Verdict — Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
Short version: Verdict analyzes your lifting videos entirely on your device.
Your videos never leave your phone. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no
third-party SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own.
Who we are
Verdict is an iOS app that analyzes powerlifting squat videos and estimates whether a
lift would be judged a good lift, using machine-learning models that run entirely on your
device. It is developed by an independent developer. Contact:
stoughfamily1@gmail.com.
What data the app touches — and where it stays
- Videos you record or import. With your permission, Verdict uses the
camera to record lifts and reads videos you choose from your photo library. All analysis
happens on your device using Apple's Core ML framework. Videos and analysis results are
stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Exports. If you choose to export a video or result, it is saved to
your photo library or shared through the iOS share sheet — always at your initiation,
always under your control.
- Analysis history. Your past results are stored locally in the app.
Deleting the app deletes them.
What we do NOT collect
We collect nothing. Verdict has no user accounts, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs,
no advertising, no tracking, and no server of ours that the app talks to. We cannot see
your videos, your results, or anything else about your use of the app.
Network access
The app's own code makes no network requests. One system-level exception: the first time
the app runs, iOS itself may contact Apple's servers to retrieve a decryption key for the
app's bundled machine-learning model (Apple's standard Core ML model-encryption mechanism).
This request is made by the operating system, is handled under
Apple's privacy policy, and does not
include your videos or any personal data.
Feedback and diagnostics
- Feedback is sent through your own mail app, only when you choose to
send it. You decide what to write and whether to include your email address. When you
report a problem with a specific analysis, the report can include basic device info
(model, iOS version), technical details of that analysis, and a compressed copy of the
clip so the problem can be reproduced — the clip attachment has a clearly labeled toggle,
is visible in the email before you send, and can be removed there. Nothing is sent unless
you press Send in your mail app.
- Diagnostics. The app keeps a small local technical log about model
loading (for troubleshooting). You can share it with us via the share sheet if you choose;
it contains technical information only — never video frames or personal data.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device. Verdict does not
use remote push notifications.
Children
Verdict is not directed at children under 13, and since the app collects no data, no
personal information from any user — child or adult — is collected.
Your choices
- Camera and photo-library access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
- All app data lives on your device — deleting the app removes it.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change (for example, if a future version adds an online
feature), this policy will be updated here before that version ships, with a new effective
date.
